Turkey's Sunflower Seed Imports Open On Firm Tone

PANAMA - Mar 26/20 - SNS -- Turkey's imports of sunflower seeds in January were up sharply, leaping compared to the previous month, according to data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Imports during the first month of the calendar year totalled 85,646 metric tons (MT), up 107% from 41,405 MT the previous month. The statistics revealed imports was up 108% from the 41,260 MT recorded in the same month last year.

In the month, Russia was the largest supplier, selling 69,790 MT. China was the second most important origin shipping 14,211 MT, followed by Ukraine at 1,123 MT.
