Emerging Demand Optimism in Beans

PANAMA - Mar 20/20 - SNS -- North American dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on an easier note against a short term slowdown in domestic movement because of rising transportation costs and worries labor shortages.

Significantly, retail sales of pulses in North America and other parts of the world have spiked as consumers accumulate food stocks because of the closure of restaurants and orders to stay in their houses in several U.S. states and Canadian provinces.

This is helped by advice from health officials that consumers should increase consumption of fruits, vegetables and pulses to improve their state of health in the hopes that if they contract coronavirus their bodies will be better able to fight to the virus.
