Kazakhstan's Sunflower Seed Exports Post Soft Performance
PANAMA - Mar 2/20 - SNS -- At this point in the calendar year posted a weaker performance, with sunflower seed shipments from Kazakhstan were slightly lower, falling relative to the previous month in December, judging from the most recent data from The Agency of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Exports reached 70,995 metric tons (MT) during the month, down 6% from the 75,499 MT exported the previous month. Exports so far total 541,145 MT, compared to 331,042 in the same period the previous calendar year.
The most recent trade data showed China was number one destination, buying 50,624 MT. Uzbekistan was the second most important buyer receiving 18,511 MT, followed by Tajikistan at 1,551 MT.
