Mixed Week in Birdseeds
PANAMA - Feb 28/20 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets posted a mixed finish during the week on relatively slow demand for Canadian canaryseed but solid demand for sunflower seed in the United States.
Canaryseed growers are seeing limited interest from processors for product in their bins, suggesting the marketing chain is reasonable well stocked for current needs. At the same time, optimism seeded area will increase is keeping new crop markets relatively calm because of hopes prices will ease as this year's harvest approaches.
Canada is expected to end its current marketing campaign with limited supplies in the hands of growers and processors.
