Red Lentil Exports From Canada Reveal Weak Performance

PANAMA - Feb 5/20 - SNS -- Canada's shipments of red lentils in December dropped compared to the previous month, judging from data from Statistics Canada.

Total export sales in the month amounted to 71,423 metric tons (MT), down 15% from the previous month's total of 84,099. So far exports have totalled 458,661 MT, up from 396,322 during the previous marketing year.

In the month, United Arab Emirates was the most important consumer, receiving 25,810 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important destination receiving 11,275 MT, followed by Colombia at 8,807 MT.
