Turkey's Lentil Imports Reveal Improved Performance

PANAMA - Feb 3/20 - SNS -- Turkey's imports of lentils during December rocketed compared to the previous month, judging from data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Total imports throughout the month reached 41,750 metric tons (MT), up 69% from the previous month's total of 24,719. So far imports have totalled 340,797 MT, down from 356,938 during the previous calendar year.

In the month, Canada was the number one shipper, selling 32,259 MT. Kazakhstan was the second most important export origin shipping 6,455 MT, followed by Russia at 1,997 MT.
