Canada's Red Lentil Exports Maintain Strong Trend

PANAMA - Jan 7/20 - SNS -- At this point in the marketing year are keeping up their firmer tone, with red lentil exports from Canada showed modest gains, advancing compared to the previous month in November, according to official statistics from Statistics Canada.

Exports for the month totalled 84,099 metric tons (MT), up from 72,505 MT the previous month. This lifted shipments so far during the marketing year to 387,238, up 22% last year.

The number one consumer throughout the month was Turkey, taking 25,550 MT. China was the second most important buyer receiving 17,670 MT, followed by Bangladesh at 15,113 MT.
