Russia's Field Pea Exports Continue Soft Tone
PANAMA - Dec 17/19 - SNS -- So far during the calendar year kept up their weaker tone, with field pea export shipments from Russia posted significant declines, slumping relative to the previous month in October, according to official trade statistics from Federal Customs Service of Russia.
Exports for the month reached 53,842 metric tons (MT), down from 67,966 MT the prior month. This lifted export sales so far during the calendar year to 505,464, down 48% last year.
Turkey was the biggest consumer, buying 17,273 MT. Pakistan was the second most important importer taking 11,664 MT, followed by India at 7,545 MT.
