India's Lentil Imports Maintain Solid Performance
PANAMA - Dec 9/19 - SNS -- Imports of lentils for India rocketed relative to the previous month in July, available data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics reveals.
Total imports during the month amounted to 96,282 metric tons (MT), up 189% from the previous month's total of 33,358. So far imports have amounted to 335,290 MT, up from 85,155 during the previous calendar year.
The latest trade data reported Canada was most important origin, supplying 85,463 MT. Australia was the second most important export origin selling 5,619 MT, followed by United States at 2,941 MT.
