Red Lentil Exports From Canada Record Weak Performance

PANAMA - Dec 5/19 - SNS -- Export shipments of red lentils for Canada sank compared to the previous month in October, the latest data from Statistics Canada reveals.

Total shipments for the month amounted to 72,505 metric tons (MT), down 64% from the previous month's total of 200,875. So far exports have amounted to 303,139 MT, up from 251,030 in the same period the previous marketing year.

Recent movement statistics showed Turkey was number one importer, receiving 26,762 MT during the month. India was the second most important buyer taking 21,707 MT, followed by Sri Lanka at 5,559 MT.
