India's Chickpea Exports Maintain Easy Trend

PANAMA - Nov 13/19 - SNS -- Export shipments of chickpeas for India fell versus the previous month in April, trade data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics shows.

Shipments during the month reached 9,492 metric tons (MT), down from 19,647 MT the prior month. This boosted exports so far during the calendar year to 47,676, down 51% last year.

Recent movement data revealed Algeria was most important consumer, taking 1,637 MT for the month. Bangladesh was the second most important destination buying 1,209 MT, followed by Saudi Arabia at 1,057 MT.
