Bean Harvest 91% Complete

WASHINGTON - Nov 13/19 - SNS -- This year's dry edible bean harvest in the United States is 91% complete, judging from state level crop updates from the USDA's NASS, with continued delays reported in North Dakota, Minnesota and Michigan

The harvest in Michigan was stalled by cold temperatures and heavy snowfall in most parts of the state. The moisture content of harvested crops is high, with farmers reporting variable yields.

Minnesota's harvest was helped by unusually cold weather because it allowed machinery to enter fields. This allowed them to bring in another 9% of the crop, thought the dry bean harvest is considered 38 days behind normal.
