Sorghum Estimate Rises 3%

WASHINGTON - Nov 8/19 - SNS -- Sorghum production is forecast at 358 million bushels, up 3% from the previous forecast but down 2% from last year, according to the USDA's latest crop report.

Area harvested for grain is forecast at 4.72 million acres, unchanged from the previous forecast but down 7% from 2018.

Based on November 1 conditions, yield is forecast at 75.9 bushels per acre, 2.0 bushels higher than the previous forecast and 3.8 bushels per acre above the 2018 yield of 72.1 bushels per acre
