Dry Beans Hold Firm

PANAMA - Nov 1/19 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets were moderately firmer during the past week, reflecting the below average pace of the U.S. harvest and worries about crop quality because of poor weather conditions in recent week.

This was reflected in inter-dealer markets in the United States, with the result its spot index for dry edible beans advanced 0.5 points on the week to close at 122.1.

The Canadian pulse prices index rose 0.6 points on the week against relatively tight supplies of top grade green lentils and green peas to close at 128.8, while the global index slipped 0.2 points to 135.6.
