Bean Harvest 76% Complete

WASHINGTON - Oct 29/19 - SNS -- Dry edible bean harvest activity continues to advance at a relatively slow pace in north eastern growing areas in the United States, judging from state level crop updates from the USDA's NASS.

However, the harvest has advanced to 76% complete, compared to 97% last year and the recent five year average of 96% in the bin by the end of October.

Farmers in North Dakota have now harvested 66% of this year's crop, compared to 99% last year. Farmers in Michigan are now reporting 79% of the state's bean crop is now in the bin, compared to 91% last year. Growers in Minnesota have now harvested 76% of the bean crop. Normally that state's harvest is complete by this time of year.
