Lentil Grade Price Spreads Widen
PANAMA - Oct 22/19 - SNS -- Lentil markets finished trading last week on a firm note, with prices advancing in both grower and export markets.
Quality premiums have emerged in large green lentil markets, with average price spreads so far this marketing year wider than they were last season.
During the 2018-19 marketing year, the average premium for No 1 grade large green lentils over No 2 Canada product was CDN $0.81 per 100 pounds (cwt) or U.S. $15.55 per metric ton (MT). So far during 2019-20 the premium has averaged $1.13 cwt or $18.75 MT.
