Birdseeds Generally Firmer
PANAMA - Oct 18/19 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets finished the week on a firmer note, with asking prices for the key products in the category advancing.
Confection sunflower bids to farmers were unchanged on the week, but bids for oil type sunflower finished higher, partly due to harvest delays caused by a major snow storm in the Dakotas and Minnesota.
Strength in white proso millet seed in the United States is welcome news to canaryseed processors and exporters because it helps change the cost expectations of packagers.
