Mixed Week For Beans
PANAMA - Oct 11/19 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets posted a mixed finish on the week, with the latest USDA production estimates having little impact on markets.
Total dry edible bean production in the United States is expected to reach 1.127 million metric tons (MT), down from 1.172 million last year and below the recent five year average of 1.21 million.
Estimated production is also down 3% from what was expected in August, reflecting a 2% reduction in estimated seeded area to 1.31 million acres and a 30 pound per acre reduction in estimated yields to 1,889 pounds for all classes of beans.
