Turkey's Lentil Imports Continue Easy Tendency

PANAMA - Oct 9/19 - SNS -- Turkey's imports of lentils in August were well down, plunging compared to the previous month, according to data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Total imports for the month amounted to 15,093 metric tons (MT), down 57% from the previous month's total of 35,419. So far imports have amounted to 198,358 MT, down from 209,638 during the previous calendar year.

Canada was the number one exporter for the month, shipping 10,129 MT. Kazakhstan was the second most important exporter shipping 3,502 MT, followed by Syria at 1,053 MT.
