Sunflower Seed Imports By Turkey Post Slow Performance

PANAMA - Oct 9/19 - SNS -- Turkey's imports of sunflower seeds in August posted massive declines, sinking versus the previous month, judging from data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Total imports in the month reached 15,102 metric tons (MT), down 71% from the previous month's total of 51,865. So far imports have reached 934,014 MT, up from 619,546 in the same period the last calendar year.

Recent trade statistics showed Other was largest exporter, shipping 10,000 MT for the month. China was the second most important export origin shipping 4,790 MT, followed by Iran at 152 MT.
