Green Lentils Markets Advance
PANAMA - Oct 4/19 - SNS -- Trading levels for No 2 and No 1 grade large green lentils continued to advance during the past week, suggesting the percentage of good quality product harvested this year is down significantly from last year.
During the previous five years, an average of 28% of Canada's green lentil harvest ended up as No 1 grade and 45% as No 2 and 22% as Extra 3 and No 3.
Before farmers were deep into this year's harvest, they were optimistic about quality, thinking 16% of all classes of lentils could be No 1 Canada, 55% No 2, and 22% Extra 3 and No 3.
