Few Changes In Beans

PANAMA - Oct 4/19 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets were little changed, with markets waiting to get a better sense of the quality of the North American harvest and available supplies.

Prices are adjusting as the harvest advances in North America, with processors and exporters trying to attract additional buying interest as they become more confident of the amount they will have to market for the various classes.

This was reflected in inter-dealer markets in the United States, with the result its spot index for dry edible beans inched down 0.2 points on the week to close at 117.4. Markets are waiting for the USDA's October 10 production estimate to get a better sense of average yields for the main producing states.
