Birdseeds Finish Firmer
PANAMA - Oct 4/19 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading on a firmer note, with canaryseed growers in Canada now seeing premiums for deferred delivery.
White proso millet seed prices also advanced in the United States, while confection sunflower was unchanged, and oil type unchanged to firmer.
Sunflower markets are looking toward next week's USDA crop report for initial indications of this year's yields. The U.S. based National Sunflower Association notes that while the crop is rated in mostly good to excellent condition, "significant above normal rainfall in September in the Dakotas and Minnesota could affect overall production and crop quality."
