Canada's Red Lentil Exports Continue Soft Tone

PANAMA - Oct 4/19 - SNS -- Canada's exports of red lentils in August shrank versus the previous month, according to data from Statistics Canada.

Movement for the month totalled 29,761 metric tons (MT), down from 113,007 MT the previous month. This boosted shipments so far during the marketing year to 29,761, down 74% last year.

Turkey was the biggest consumer for the month, buying 7,313 MT. United Arab Emirates was the second most important destination receiving 5,989 MT, followed by India at 4,058 MT.
