Chickpea Exports From Australia Reveal Improved Result
PANAMA - Oct 4/19 - SNS -- Australia's movement of chickpeas during August made major gains, advancing versus the previous month, according to data from Australia Bureau of Statistics.
Shipments reached 21,217 metric tons (MT) in the month, up 31% from the 16,222 MT exported the previous month. Export sales so far total 295,857 MT, compared to 699,317 during the last marketing year.
Pakistan was the top destination during the month, taking 9,342 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important buyer buying 5,473 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 1,701 MT.
