Bulk Lentil Movement Slows in August

WINNIPEG - Oct 1/19 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 27,200 metric tons (MT) of mainly old crop lentils were loaded for export through licensed facilities which are required to report to it all grain movement in August.

The CGC reports 69,100 MT were shipped the same month last year, while movement is down from the 31,500 MT shipped the previous month.

Of bulk lentils shipped during the month, 25,100 MT moved through Vancouver; and 2,100 MT were shipped direct from Prairie elevators to North American destinations. The CGC does not include exports through cleaning plants or in containers.
