Chickpea Exports From Russia Post Weak Month

PANAMA - Oct 1/19 - SNS -- Movement of chickpeas for Russia posted significant declines, slumping relative to the previous month in July, the latest data from Federal Customs Service of Russia shows.

Export sales during the month reached 33,548 metric tons (MT), down from 42,614 MT the previous month. This lifted movement so far during the calendar year to 217,806, up 431% last year.

The most recent movement statistics showed Turkey was largest buyer, receiving 13,257 MT. Pakistan was the second most important buyer taking 12,665 MT, followed by India at 2,925 MT.
