Exports Help Pea Values
PANAMA - Sep 27/19 - SNS -- Field pea markets were little changed as bulk exporters continue to amass cargo to cover outstanding business to customers in Asia and elsewhere.
This has seen both export movement and deliveries by farmers to the bulk handling system rise substantially over last year.
There is pressure on importers in India to have purchases shipped before the end of September. Those who have been authorized to bring peas, pigeon peas, mung and back mapte beans into the country under quantitative quotas have an October 31 deadline for the goods to arrive at ports in the country. Requests for an extension have been denied.
