Chickpea Exports From Australia Extend Weak Tone

PANAMA - Sep 5/19 - SNS -- Australia's export shipments of chickpeas in July fell compared to the previous month, judging from data from Australia Bureau of Statistics.

Total movement in the month reached 16,632 metric tons (MT), down 36% from the previous month's total of 25,805. So far export sales have totalled 275,049 MT, down from 671,642 during the last marketing year.

Pakistan was the top importer, receiving 4,474 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important consumer buying 4,403 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 2,455 MT.
