Australia's Chickpea Exports Reveal Improved Result
PANAMA - Aug 6/19 - SNS -- At this point in the current marketing year recorded a better result, with chickpea export shipments from Australia rose slightly relative to the previous month in June, according to available data from Australia Bureau of Statistics.
Exports reached 27,251 metric tons (MT) in the month, up 10% from the 24,719 MT shipped the previous month. Shipments so far total 259,863 MT, compared to 646,411 during the last marketing year.
Bangladesh was the top buyer for the month, receiving 8,463 MT. Pakistan was the second most important destination taking 8,064 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 4,991 MT.
