All Quiet In Beans

PANAMA - Aug 3/19 - SNS -- Spreads between old and new crop values in North American dry edible bean markets are narrowing rapidly as this year's crop develops and the attention of buyer shifts from spot to new crop shipping positions.

This was reflected in modest adjustments in spot asking prices in the United States, with the result its spot index for beans inched up 0.1 points on the week to close at 115.4.

The Canadian pulse price index sank 5.0 points to finish at 122.7, while the world pulse price index inched dropped 2.0 points to close at 138.1.
