Pigeon Pea Imports By India Record Weak Month

PANAMA - Jul 23/19 - SNS -- India's imports of pigeon peas in April sank compared to the previous month, judging from data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics.

Imports reached 13,007 metric tons (MT) in the month, down 69% from the 41,826 MT shipped the previous month. Imports so far total 146,244 MT, versus 68,986 during the previous calendar year.

During the month, Myanmar was the top origin, shipping 5,118 MT. Mozambique was the second most important supplier shipping 3,480 MT, followed by Malawi at 3,225 MT.
