Pakistan's Chickpea Imports Reveal Slow Month

PANAMA - Jul 15/19 - SNS -- Pakistan's imports of chickpeas in December sank versus the previous month, judging from data from Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

Imports for the month totalled 40,024 metric tons (MT), down from 55,209 MT the prior month. This boosted imports so far during the calendar year to 501,578, up 1% last year.

Recent trade data reported Russia was largest exporter, selling 10,438 MT during the month. Tanzania was the second most important exporter shipping 8,197 MT, followed by Canada at 7,572 MT.
