WASHINGTON - Jul 11/19 - SNS -- Production of spring wheat other than durum is expected to reach 572 million bushels in the United States, down 8% from last year, according to the latest USDA production forecast for 2019.
Area harvested for grain or seed is expected to total 12.1 million acres, unchanged from the Acreage report released on June 28, 2019, but 6% below 2018. The United States yield is forecast at a 47.2 bushels per acre, down 1.1 bushels from last year. Of the total production, 542 million bushels are Hard Red Spring wheat, down 8% from last year.
