Russia's Sunflower Seed Exports Continue Firm Tone
PANAMA - Jul 9/19 - SNS -- Russia's export shipments of sunflower seeds in April rocketed versus the previous month, according to data from Federal Customs Service of Russia.
Export sales during the month totalled 50,063 metric tons (MT), up from 23,988 MT the prior month. This increased export sales so far during the calendar year to 98,611, up 182% last year.
The largest consumer for the month was Turkey, receiving 20,432 MT. Kazakhstan was the second most important importer buying 13,346 MT, followed by Italy at 8,195 MT.
