Mung Bean Imports By India Start With Firm Tone

PANAMA - Jun 15/19 - SNS -- So far during the calendar year on a a firmer tone, with mung bean imports for India showed major improvement, rising compared to the previous month in March, judging from trade statistics from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics.

Total imports during the month reached 58,260 metric tons (MT), up 821% from the previous month's total of 6,327. So far imports have amounted to 102,723 MT, up from 15,359 during the previous calendar year.

Current movement statistics reported Myanmar was number one export origin, supplying 56,802 MT in the month. Tanzania was the second most important exporter shipping 1,035 MT, followed by Kenya at 230 MT.
