Turkey's Lentil Exports Sustain Firm Trend
PANAMA - Jun 12/19 - SNS -- Turkey's movement of lentils during April recorded major gains, leaping compared to the previous month, according to data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).
Shipments reached 35,304 metric tons (MT) during the month, up 93% from the 18,310 MT shipped the previous month. Export sales so far total 103,835 MT, compared to 95,024 during the previous calendar year.
Recent trade statistics revealed Iraq was top destination, receiving 25,985 MT for the month. Yemen was the second most important buyer receiving 1,267 MT, followed by Iran at 1,200 MT.
