Quiet Week in Birdseeds
PANAMA - May 17/19 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets closed the week with a slightly easier undertone.
Markets for white proso millet posted declines in both grower and inter-dealer markets during the past week. By contrast, Canadian canaryseed was nominally unchanged with offers from growers and processors remaining in balance with the short term needs of exporters and packagers.
Official production and trade data from Statistics Canada suggests the country will be more than sold out of canaryseed during both the 2018-19 and 2019-20 marketing years.
