India's Pigeon Pea Imports Manage Weak Opening

PANAMA - May 15/19 - SNS -- India's imports of pigeon peas during February posted massive declines, sinking compared to the previous month, judging from data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics.

Total imports for the month amounted to 13,433 metric tons (MT), down 83% from the previous month's total of 77,977. So far imports have totalled 91,410 MT, up from 55,668 during the previous calendar year.

Tanzania was the largest origin for the month, supplying 5,598 MT. Myanmar was the second most important supplier selling 3,623 MT, followed by Mozambique at 2,588 MT.
