Chickpea Exports From India Record A Better Performance

PANAMA - May 15/19 - SNS -- So far during the calendar year recorded a a better performance, with chickpea shipments for India improved relative to the previous month in February, according to the latest statistics from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics.

Movement reached 9,316 metric tons (MT) for the month, up 1% from the 9,220 MT exported the previous month. Export sales so far total 18,536 MT, versus 27,932 during the previous calendar year.

The most recent trade data reported Algeria was biggest consumer, taking 1,894 MT. Sri Lanka was the second most important buyer receiving 1,324 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 787 MT.
