Field Pea Imports By India Start With Weak Note

PANAMA - May 15/19 - SNS -- Imports of field peas for India posted massive declines, sinking versus the previous month in February, data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics reveals.

Imports during the month totalled 44,257 metric tons (MT), down from 124,580 MT the prior month. This increased imports so far during the calendar year to 168,837, down 6% last year.

The most recent trade statistics revealed Ukraine was most important origin, shipping 18,808 MT. Russia was the second most important origin selling 7,218 MT, followed by Canada at 5,815 MT.
