French Pea Exports Jump
PARIS - May 13/19 - SNS -- France's field pea exports jumped in March, though season to date shipments remain well below last year, according to data from Eurostat and Terres Univia.
Export shipments during March totalled 24,246 metric tons (MT), roughly double the 12,062 MT shipped the previous month, and up 15% from the 21,235 MT shipped the same month last year. Season to date export clearances are down 31% from the previous marketing year.
Belgium was the most important destination, taking 11,975 MT. The United Kingdom was the second most important destination at 8,855 MT, followed by Netherlands at 1,305 and Italy at 756 MT.
