Mustard Markets Unchanged

PANAMA - May 10/19 - SNS -- North American mustard seed markets were unchanged on the week, reflecting relatively well balanced supply and demand fundatmentals.

Seeding of this year's crop is advancing at a slightly slower than average pace, with 20% of Saskatchewan's crop in the ground as of May 6, compared to the recent five year average of 23%, but almost double last year's pace.

Farmers intend to reduce seeded area from 503,800 to 416,300 acres this year, which could see Canadian production drop from 173,700 to 157,000 metric tons (MT).
