Canada's Lentil Exports Record Easy Opening
PANAMA - May 9/19 - SNS -- Export shipments of lentils for Canada fell versus the previous month in March, trade data from Statistics Canada reveals.
Exports during the month totalled 131,086 metric tons (MT), down from 229,233 MT the prior month. This boosted exports so far during the marketing year to 1,327,126, up 31% last year.
The largest destination throughout the month was India, receiving 26,665 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important importer receiving 17,116 MT, followed by Turkey at 11,973 MT.
