Yellow Pea Exports From Canada Post Weak Performance
PANAMA - May 9/19 - SNS -- Canada's shipments of yellow peas in March were well down, plunging compared to the previous month, according to data from Statistics Canada.
Total export sales for the month amounted to 125,320 metric tons (MT), down 40% from the previous month's total of 209,921. So far exports have reached 1,554,355 MT, up from 1,324,942 during the last marketing year.
Current movement statistics reported Bangladesh was top consumer, taking 60,269 MT in the month. China was the second most important buyer receiving 37,499 MT, followed by India at 16,107 MT.
