Red Lentil Exports From Canada Start On Firm Note
PANAMA - Apr 17/19 - SNS -- Canada's shipments of red lentils during February made modest gains, inching up compared to the previous month, judging from data from Statistics Canada.
Exports totalled 177,068 metric tons (MT) during the month, up 2% from the 173,191 MT exported the previous month. Movement so far total 744,619 MT, compared to 359,072 during the last marketing year.
During the month, India was the number one destination, taking 71,718 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important buyer receiving 38,582 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 22,930 MT.
