Germany's Oil-type Sunflower Imports Record Weak Opening

PANAMA - Apr 17/19 - SNS -- Germany's imports of oil-type sunflowers in February fell sharply compared to the previous month, judging from data from Eurostat.

Total imports during the month reached 6,170 metric tons (MT), down 63% from the previous month's total of 16,626. So far imports have totalled 22,795 MT, up from 20,360 in the same period the previous calendar year.

Netherlands was the biggest supplier for the month, supplying 1,759 MT. Slovakia was the second most important shipper selling 1,296 MT, followed by Romania at 846 MT.
