Chickpea Exports From Australia Record A Strong Result
PANAMA - Apr 3/19 - SNS -- At this point in the current marketing year posted a a stronger result, with chickpea exports for Australia posted solid advances, advancing compared to the previous month in February, according to official data from Australia Bureau of Statistics.
Shipments for the month totalled 47,431 metric tons (MT), up from 32,358 MT the previous month. This increased shipments so far during the marketing year to 142,244, down 65% last year.
Since the start of the marketing year, exports have been down relative to the previous five year average. A total of 142,244 MT was shipped so far, down -77% from the average of 606,941 MT posted the prior five years.
