Peas Not Surprised by USDA Report

PANAMA - Apr 4/19 - SNS -- Field pea markets were not overly surprised that farmers in the United States intend to increase land in the crop from 856,500 to 881,000 acres.

Though average prices paid for peas in the United States are down from last season, they remain close to the middle of their historic price range.

More significantly, movement so far this marketing has improved over last season despite India's absence from markets. This mirrors what Canadian growers have been experiencing, with both countries reporting an increases in exports through January compared to the previous marketing year.
