India's Chickpea Exports Reveal Easy Month

PANAMA - Mar 28/19 - SNS -- So far during the current calendar year recorded a weaker month, with chickpea export shipments from India were little changed, dropping compared to the previous month in December, according to official data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics.

Total exports for the month amounted to 14,116 metric tons (MT), down 9% from the previous month's total of 15,544. So far movement has reached 258,115 MT, up from 88,397 in the same period the previous calendar year.

The top consumer during the month was Algeria, receiving 3,982 MT. Sri Lanka was the second most important destination receiving 1,263 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 1,230 MT.
